Neuromodulators (Botox® and Dysport®)

This is a commonly performed cosmetic procedure used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles through minimally invasive injections. These injections are made from botulinum toxin A, a therapeutic muscle-relaxing agent approved by the FDA for several different uses. Neuromodulators have been used safely for wrinkle therapy since the early 1990's with no serious side effects. When injected into the skin, it blocks the nerve impulses that are responsible for the repetitive actions that cause fine lines and wrinkles. The result is skin that is smoother and has a more refreshed appearance.

After treatment, the appearance of your wrinkles begins to improve within three to five days, with full results developing gradually over the next twelve days. The results of Neuromodulators injections typically last up to four months, with some patients reporting results lasting up to a full year.

Neuromodulators used in combination with facial fillers will often help you to attain your desired goal.

Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or who have a neurologic disease should not use neurmodulators
